About Me

My photo
Hello! My name is Amber Jones and I am a resident of Odenville, AL. I am a mother of two great little boys and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 8 years. I love to travel! I have always been fascinated with other countries and their cultures. This job allows me to learn by experiencing these countries and cultures first- hand and to help you do the same. I also teach a series of classes on Budgeting, including the new "Coupon Game", Money-Saving Meals, Making Time for Mommy, Manage Life by Managing Time. I love to travel, but in today's economy, families think they can't find the extra money to go on vacation. I am here to help you see that you can travel and make wonderful vacation memories as a family, while on a budget!

Disney Tips and Tricks ~ Let's start with Magic Kingdom

Is this your first visit? Is it your Birthday? Anniversary?Honeymoon? If so then make sure to stop by City Hall or Guest Services and ask for the souvenir button to commemorate the event! And, don’t just keep this great news to yourself...wear the button proudly, and you might get special acknowledgment from the Cast Members!

As soon as you enter each park, you will soon see a PhotoPass Photographer, just waiting to take your photo! Make sure you take the PhotoPass card and find a way to remember the code on the back (we usually snap a photo of the code)...the only way to track it if you lose it, is to know the code!
And, speaking of PhotoPass...make sure to take advantage of these photographers. Their images are GREAT, and even if you decide NOT to buy the photos, once you return home it is a great way to share your vacation with family and friends. You just upload, and share! Easy for you...and them!

Magic Kingdom

Are you a Military Veteran? If so, let me say “Thank you!!!”....but also, let me tell you this....if you stop by City Hall, as soon as you enter the park, ask them if you can be the Veteran of the Day. If they have not chosen one already, you just may be selected to assist in the Flag Retreat Ceremony (5pm). And, if you are the lucky one...you just might receive a commemorative certificate for your participation!
If you have a little one who might be experiencing “Goofy’s Barnstormer” (the kiddie rollercoaster in Toon Town) for the first time, make sure to let the Cast Member know before they get on, and they might just give you a fun treat....for being so brave!

And while you are in Toon Town, make sure pay a visit to the Big Mouse....you know...the one you came all of this way to see!!! When you go through Mickeyʼs house, you will have fun seeing all of his “stuff”...but donʼt miss the Judgeʼs Tent at the end! This will be, by far, your BEST shot of seeing him, and having a little one-on-one time.

This is another great adventure to add to your day in Magic Kingdom, especially for older kids! If you can catch the first raft over to Tom Sawyer’s Island (raft usually departs around 10am), you can embark on an adventure...for you and the entire family. As you are on the trails, make sure you are watching for Tom’s paint brushes covered in dried paint. (hint: usually about 6 hidden per day). If you are a lucky hunter and find such a brush, take it to the nearest Disney Cast Member and they will reward you for your superior searching skills! The best part is that you will receive a certificate, awarding you with “Magical Memories”...and this certificate is valid for ONE FastPass for your entire family to ride your choice: Splash Mountain OR Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Very fun! There are NO restrooms in Liberty Square. This is to keep the representation in the ear after which it was modeled.
